In 2012, when Kelly barrel-tasted and discovered the differences between each mountain-vineyard block and those of the Valley floor, she selected this Atlas Peak cuvée to be bottled separately (our inaugural vintage was the 2011). The production is quite small but we enjoy each AVA's unique character.
Atlas Peak is a much cooler growing area with direct maritime influence from both the southwest (San Pablo Bay) and the southeast (Suisun Bay) and the resulting wines develop an elegance, a lightness on their feet and beautiful natural acidity.
Cherry and spice from the forests, bright acidity and medium body dance on the palate. Red cherry flavors seem to last forever in the finish. This offering is a beautiful example of one of the most successful Cabernets born in high elevation.
