I’ve always liked the wines from Bacio Divino, but I have to admit that I was stunned by the quality of the two terrific Pinot Noirs I tasted, especially the 2013 Lucie Pinot Noir Bacigalupi Vineyard. Of course, this is a highly revered source, and this wine (which is 100% destemmed and aged in 40% new French oak and fermented with indigenous yeast) is a luscious, sexy style of Pinot Noir, with plenty of Asian plum sauce, black cherry notes intermixed with forest floor, and a touch of oak in a medium to full-bodied, silky textured, opulent style. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
