Bright, full ruby. Vibrant aromas of crushed blackberry, blueberry, minerals and fruity bitter chocolate, complicated by notes of caraway seed and game. Supple and fine-grained but still primary and unevolved. Offers a lovely combination of texture and energy, with the long, echoing finish displaying very suave tannins. Ultimately more concentrated and generous than the basic Oakville bottling. (ST) (5/2016)92 points Wine Spectator
Centered on a rich, full, vibrant core of lively blackberry and wild berry. Though tannic and chewy, the flavors hold their own and the tannins are kept in check by a mix of espresso, mocha, vanilla bean and chewy currant.
